Naples, Florida offers fantastic offshore and inshore backwater fishing including mangrove, flats, and river and creek fishing. The deep Gulf coast waters two to eight miles off the Naples shore is littered with shipwrecks and coral reefs which make for fantastic offshore fishing opportunities for a multitude of fish species. Fish caught in Naples’ offshore waters include: grouper, goliath grouper, Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, cobia, grouper, black drum, barracuda, redfish, permit, and shark. Inshore fishing is unbelievable in Naples, Florida’s backwaters. Fish species caught in Naples backwaters include: snook, tarpon, redfish, trout, bluefish, pompano, Cubera snapper, ladyfish, amberjacks, baby grouper, jack Crevalle, and black drum.
Charter Fishing:
Naples, Florida’s tropical climate means warm temperatures year round. Temperatures range from the high 70’s in the winter to the low 90’s in July, August and September. Rainfall is heaviest from June to September and tapers off dramatically in October. These warm temperatures combined with the calm, warm waters of the Gulf Coast make for fantastic year round fishing. Several species of offshore fish are available all year including the famous goliath grouper, Spanish mackerel, grouper, amberjack, jack Crevalle, barracuda, and ladyfish. Black drum and redfish are best in the winter months while tarpon, shark, permit, cobia and snook are best in the spring and summer months. Inshore fishing is great year round for almost all species including: redfish, trout, grouper, ladyfish and tarpon. Snook is available April through November, peaking in summer, with black drum available December through March, and pompano being caught in the fall and winter months of October through March.
