Charlotte Harbor Fishing ChartersWelcome to Flats Captain Charters The waters of Charlotte Harbor and the gulf islands that include the tarpon capital of the world Boca Grande are home to some of Florida's greatest gamefish. Tarpon, redfish, and snook are among the many inshore species that can be found from just off the beaches of places like Sannibel, Captiva, Cayo Costa and Gasparilla Islands to deep into the back country of the estuary systems of Matlacha, Gasparilla and Pine Island Sound or Bull and Turtle Bay. The clear blue green gulf waters flood these inshore tidal flats from Redfish, Captiva, and Boca Grande Passes daily ensuring healthy estuaries and also provide some exceptional sight fishing opportunities. Capt. Mike has been guiding on these waters and teaching the sport of sight fishing and light tackle angling for years. In addition to tight lines, it is always rewarding watching our clients come off the water with a better understanding of how tidal influence, natural structure, and bait presence affect fishing patterns. About Capt. Michael Manis grew up in south Florida spending many years in the Keys and on the Indian River before settling down on the banks of the Peace River. This location which is also on the edge of Charlotte Harbor in Southwest Florida provides access to some of the most unspoiled saltwater fishing in Florida. Flats Captain Charters has been operating out of Punta Gorda, Florida for over six years. Capt. Michael Manis offers some of the finest inshore fly and light tackle angling that southwest Florida has to offer. My specialty is poling, stalking, and sight fishing the backcountry with artificial baits, but I also enjoy the art of live baiting. I am U.S.C.G. Licensed and insured and I strive to provide a personable and professional experience that puts an emphasis on keeping the fun in fishing. ![]()
