Located in the heart of Florida’s “Treasure Coast”, a beautiful stretch of ocean front on Florida’s central East Coast, Ft. Pierce is one of the oldest communities on Florida’s east coast and is rich in history as well as fantastic vacation opportunities.  Located on the famous Indian River Lagoon, Ft. Pierce has some of the best inshore flat fishing in the world as well as great deep sea fishing in the warm Gulf Stream waters offshore.  Ft. Pierce has miles of sparkling beaches, acres of lush green citrus groves and rolling cattle ranches, and the largest freshwater lagoon in the state at Savannas State Preserve.

Ft. Pierce is a great destination for warm weather sports.  Golfers will love the more than 12 lush green golf courses in Ft. Pierce including PGA Village, an award-winning 54 hole golfing complex that offers the best of Florida golfing as well as a top rated learning center where you can get a little help with your game.  Ft. Pierce’s location on Florida’s Treasure Coast makes it a fantastic place for scuba and snorkeling.  The Treasure Coast gets its name from the great hurricane of 1715 that sank the Spanish Fleet, leaving a treasure trove of gold, silver, jewels and more on the bottom of the sea.  What makes the Treasure Coast a treasure today is the spectacular reef system that has grown off of these wrecks as well as other manmade and natural reefs that give divers some of the best scuba in Florida.  Other popular water sports include kayaking, sailing, jet skiing, and windsurfing.

Ft. Pierce offers many cultural and historical attractions.  Downtown Ft. Pierce’s historical district has been renovated and features charming art galleries, shops, and restaurants for unbeatable window shopping.  The Manatee Observation and Education Center is a one of a kind waterfront wildlife observation center dedicated to the natural preservation of marine wildlife and where you can view the peaceful and charming manatee in its natural habitat year round.  Dolphin sighting are also common.  Ft. Pierce also has a historical museum and exotic botanical garden.

Ft. Pierce is serviced by Melbourne International Airport to the north and Palm Beach International Airport to the south.  Rental cars are available at both locations, and with Disneyworld, Sea World, Universal Studios and Kennedy Space Center all less than 90 minute away, rental cars are a great option.
