New Jersey Charter Captain

Captain T.J. Schwartzwalder is a licensed Coast Guard Master who has been fishing the waters off Long Beach Island and Cape May New Jersey for over 20 years. He is a very friendly and down to earth guy who really enjoys teaching kids and novices all about fishing. Also because he is one of the best Captains in the area with great knowledge and years of experience fishing the wrecks and reefs located inshore, offshore and in the Back Bay areas he can probably teach a thing or two to even the most avid fisherman as well. Captain TJ wants to make your fishing trip with him a memorable one and he will work hard to ensure your time will be filled with fun and fish.

New Jersey Charter Boats

Legal limit have two separate boats to meet all of your fishing needs. The Northern Lights is a 38’ vessel that is built for fishing and for comfort as well. It has room for 6 people to be able to fish comfortably and is even equipped with a Tracy 80 class fighting chair to fight the big one you hook up with offshore. It also offers all the comforts of home with a large cabin that has both A/C and heat so no matter what the weather is like outside you can relax in the luxury of the cabin inside. The cabin is equipped with a table and benches, a nice comfortable couch, a television and VCR and even a microwave. Also the Northern Lights is equipped with a private head. The other boat the “Legal Limit” is a 35’ vessel that is custom rigged for wreck and bottom fishing. It has a huge cockpit for fishing as well as plenty of room inside its heated cabin equipped with a full head.

Long Beach Island & Cape May Fishing

During the spring months both boats are located in Tuckerton NJ where they are available for inshore and offshore trips. Fluke, weakfish, and sea bass can all be caught inshore and offshore tuna, bluefish, dolphin, and other seasonal big game fish can be hooked throughout the season. Also if you want to go out for “Jaws” we might not catch a great white but there are plenty of other species (mako, hammerhead, tiger) that can make for an adventure of a lifetime. The Northern Lights is also available in Cape May NJ to catch seasonal fish. From mid April to mid June you can book the Northern Lights to go catch drum and from mid October to mid December you can book a trip to catch the stripers off the coast of Cape May as well. The Legal Limit is available for inshore and offshore trips off the coast of LBI (Long Beach Island) from April till the end of December.
